DAY 4:  ROME / ASSISI.  A tour of The Seven Churches was just re-born and suddenly became one of the most important events celebrated by the Christian Community.  Through the years, however, pilgrims lost interest in all seven churches and only chose to visit the Four Basilicas of Rome.  It was not until the Jubilee in 2000 that Pope John Paul II encouraged Christian pilgrims to resume the visit of all seven churches as part of their spiritual journey.  Christians now from all corners of the earth come to Rome to follow in the steps of Saint Philip.  The Seven Churches were all built under Emperor Constantine marking the presence of the first Christians in Rome.  The Seven Churches are:  Saint Peter’s, Saint John in Lateran, Saint Mary Major, Saint Paul Outside the Walls, Saint Laurence Outside the Walls, The Holy Cross Church, the Church of the Catacombs.  Finally, it is fitting to visit the Millennium Church which was commissioned by Pope John Paul II to celebrate Jubilee 2000.  This evening, we drive to Assisi for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5:  ASSISI / ROME.  Today we visit the Tomb of St. Francis and the Portiuncula where the great Franciscan family has its origins.  We will also see the relics of St. Clare, as well as her incorrupt body.  This afternoon we return to Rome.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Rome.

DAY 6:  ROME.  Early morning transfer to the Vatican to attend the weekly Papal Audience.  After which we visit the Vatican City which includes the Museum, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Square, Church of St. Peter, and the Basilica of St. Paul.  This afternoon is for activities of our own.  Afterwards, we retire to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
